2nd Annual EOD Memorial Dash, Dayton (5k)

Dayton, OH

This will be the second 5k race that will be hosted in Dayton Ohio in observance of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Memorial. The race, held on National EOD Day, is an official United States observance held on the first Saturday in May. It honors members of the U.S. Armed Forces who have risked their lives in disposing explosives. Read more about the EOD technicians who gave their lives in performance of their duties.

This year we are remembering Technical Sergeant Daniel "P-Nut" Douville who was killed in action in 2011 while operating in the Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Technical Sergeant Douville deployed four times, once to Albania in support of Operation Shining Hope, once in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While operating in the Helmand Province, he led his Air Force team in clearing lines of communication, enabling freedom of maneuver, and ensuring the safety of coalition and local nationals by engaging and defeating the enemy’s weapon of choice: the Improvised Explosive Device. All proceeds will be donated to the EOD Warrior Foundation. The EOD Warrior Foundation (EODWF) serves the EOD community by providing financial assistance and support to active-duty and veteran wounded, injured or ill EOD warriors, families of our wounded and fallen EOD warriors, and by maintaining the EOD Memorial.
